Understanding the Transition

  • Why is my contract moving from Upwork Enterprise to Lifted?

Upwork Enterprise is now Lifted, an Upwork Company™ – one solution built for enterprises to source, contract, manage, and pay contingent talent.

Clients on Upwork Enterprise will gradually transition to the Lifted platform. If you currently work with clients on Upwork Enterprise, your active contracts will transition to Lifted with your clients.

On Lifted, you’ll have access to flexible opportunities, faster onboarding, and real opportunities with companies who value your craft.

  • When will my contract move to Lifted?

Transitions will occur in phases over the coming months. You’ll receive an email from donotreply@upwork.com when your client is scheduled to move to Lifted. That email will include clear next steps and any required action, to ensure a smooth transition without interruption to your work.

  • Will I need to take any action?

Yes. When your client moves to Lifted, you'll need to take a few simple steps to complete the transition and keep your contract and payments running smoothly. We'll share detailed instructions closer to your migration date, so you'll know exactly what to do and when.

Contracts & Work History

  • If my contract moves to Lifted, can I still work on Upwork Global?

Yes, in most cases, you’ll be able to submit proposals and secure contracts on both Lifted and Upwork Global.

However, under Upwork’s Terms of Use, you can't use Upwork if you are currently employed by Lifted or any of its subsidiaries (including Ascen, Lifted’s Employer of Record partner), or if have not been employed by them at any time during the calendar year or within the past six months.

If you’re not sure whether your engagement is managed through Ascen, you can review your contract details to confirm.

  • What happens if I don’t consent to move my contract to Lifted?

If you do not provide consent, Upwork will no longer be able to support your active contracts with enterprise clients once your client moves to Lifted. This is because Enterprise contracts can only continue on Lifted once the migration is complete.

  • Will my contract terms change when my contract moves to Lifted?

No. All contract terms including pay rate, hours, and scope will remain the same during your contract transition to Lifted.

  • When should I stop using Upwork and start using Lifted?

You’ll start working in Lifted on the date outlined in your transition email. Your contract(s) will be available on Lifted immediately after it is moved from Upwork, so there’s no interruption to your work or pay.
